Vapor cigarette is being promoted as the perfect tool to be used if you want to quit smoking. But is the information being fed to us by the electronic cigarette’s manufacturers true?

Based on statistics, 96% of smokers who use vapor cigarettes are able to quit smoking and never went back to the habit of smoking. Some people have the notion that smokers are able to quit smoking by using these fake cigarettes because it gradually lessens the nicotine craving of the body. But the truth is, smokers crave the habit of smoking cigarettes and not the nicotine itself. This is because of the fact that addiction to smoking is a combination of psychological dependence, bodily addiction, and habitual habits.

Aside from vapor cigarettes or electronic cigarettes, other methods and tools may be used to overcome smoking addiction. These are nicotine patches, herbal nutritional supplements, prescription drugs, hypnosis, or acupuncture. These tools and method may be very effective, especially the patches and electric cigarettes because people think that these tools lessen your craving for nicotine thus helping you wean yourself from nicotine addiction and minimizes the withdrawal syndrome.

What most people do not know is that smokers could successfully quit smoking without using these tools or applying these methods. Withdrawal from nicotine is not that intense because nicotine is already out of your body’s system within three days. Unfortunately, other harmful chemicals and substances that are included in the cigarette take a bit longer to get out of your body’s system.

Another thing that most people do not know about quitting smoking is that the craving for cigarettes last for about 3-5 minutes only. Distracting yourself whenever you crave for cigarettes is a very effective way of being smoke-free. The longer you stay away from cigarettes, the cravings become less intense and less frequent.

People also don’t know that nicotine substitutes are not really effective. For example, using e-cigarettes are effective not because it contains lesser nicotine that lets your body wean, but because it allows your body to perform its habitual habits like holding and dragging the cigarette to your lips.

The last thing that most people do not know about quitting smoking is that using one method alone is not enough. Vapor cigarette should be used in conjunction with other methods. The percentage of smokers who use a single method and succeeded is only 23%.
